Core Focus Deep Water Fitness -- Outdoor Pool
10:00 am Mondays, Wednesdays, & Fridays, with Sylvia*

This class is designed to improve core strength, cardio health and overall muscle tone. Suitable for all fitness levels, music and instruction provided. Deep water, no impact; flotation devices available.

Aqua Aerobics -- Indoor Pool**
8:00 am Mondays, Wednesdays, & Fridays with Kathe*

This well-rounded class is based on human movement theory and includes warm-up, cardio, and strength and conditioning, followed by cool down and stretching.  Indoor pool, deep and shallow water.

 
Deep Core  -- Indoor Pool**
8:00 am  Sundays with Kathe*

This well-rounded class is based on human movement theory and includes warm-up, cardio, and strength and conditioning, followed by cool down and stretching.  Indoor pool, deep water only.


Deep Water Aqua Natal
Wednesdays 12:00-1:00 pm with Jeff

This class is designed to help expectant and postpartum parents prepare for and recover from giving birth. Come enjoy a one hour, weightless workout in deep water that is built around your changing body. We will focus on strengthening the abdominal muscles and pelvic floor, which go through the most changes during pregnancy. Parents in all stages of pregnancy are welcome to join. We ask that postpartum parents wait at least 6 weeks after giving birth and 10 weeks after a C-section to join the class.
*Always follow your doctor’s recommendations. Floatation devices, music, and instruction provided.*

**If the indoor pool is closed, the class will be held in the outdoor pool.  Please check our schedule regularly for timing.

Sylvia Elsbury

Sylvia Elsbury has led adult aqua fitness classes in Albany, Berkeley and El Cerrito for nearly 20 years.

Kathe Rothacher

Kathe Rothacher, a kinesiologist, taught a variety of exercise modalities at UC Berkeley for 30 years.  In addition to teaching aqua aerobics at the Albany Aquatic Center, she is a practicing Feldenkrais practitioner.

Laura Welland

 Laura Welland is certified by the Aqua Exercise Association as an Aqua Aerobics instructor;  she is also a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer.
